  • I first purchased this emergency radio for having something to listen to at the beach or out in the woods camping. It came in handy one several occasions camping...It's current draw is very minimum so batteries last a good while, even if you did forget to set the sleep timer and leave it on all night, a full day charging in the sun will keep this thing going till the sun comes back up again. I like the weather alert function, works just like all other emergency weather radios...does increase the drain on the batteries though...Left the weather alert function on for two weeks straight on accident and the AAA's finally died. Has the ability to charge cell phones for emergency use using a standard USB cable (Not included). Tested this out with my dead HTC Surround, booted up and showed it was charging, was able to put in a 30min call and still put a charge on it.
