Nikon 8480 Monarch w/ BDC & ED Glass...This is a nice scope but is it worth the $700 price tag? I found this scope to be of excellent quality and has good, not great optics, but the price is a bit steep. Mounting this scope was a breeze and the eye relief is good, however the clarity is not what I would have expected from a $700 scope. I was able to see better through a smaller scope that sells for less than half the price. The side focus is nice and smooth and it works well but I was not able to see the big difference from the $300 scope sitting next to it during the review. I did see a slightly bit brighter images during low light conditions but could not justify the extra $400 difference. If money is no object and you want the name brand scope sitting atop your rifle, then this is the scope for you. But if you are on a budget and looking for the best bang for your buck then keep looking. All in all a nice scope but you pay for the name, not the optics.
