At about $5.00, I really didn't expect much from this machete. After cutting some 1" branches, the edge quickly dulled. The scales (Handle) are made of plastic, and provides little grip. The blade is about a millimeter thick, and is probably made of 420 or 440 stainless, and as a consequence, I could snap it in half with my hands. The nylon sheath is low quality, and the strap ripped within a few minutes.I wouldn't buy it again, Walmart sells a coleman axe for around $7.00 that will last longer, and is more useful, but neither are going to last you more than a couple of uses.
