I bought this light as a multi-purpose light, and not specifically for diving. Works great, and is definitely competitive with high end brands like MagLite. For taking 6 AA batteries, it has an amazing 180 Lumen output that competes with 4 cell D battery MagLites.TIP: When you take it out of the package, it will be extremely hard to unscrew the head. Don't worry, it's just tight because of the O-rings that seal it when you dive.
