    We bought the "bella" model for our daughter's 8th birthday and it is a huge success. I had read many reviews about the charge not lasting and it not having power. Our little scooter is a fast ride and the battery stayed charged all day. It went together easily and we followed the directions which stated to let it charge for 18hrs before riding and remember to turn it off when not in use. I am not sure of why it is recommended for 12+, because our daughter did a great job of handling it. She is a not risk taker and is very cautious on it. It is a wonderful toy and has exceeded our expectations.
