The Walmart add says preseasoned oven, HOWEVER, this is not preseasoned. It says so right on the box and in the instructions. First scrub wax coating off with soap and water, completely dry, then season with oil in your oven. After seasoning it twice I took it camping and cooked great all weekend. The precision craftmanship on the lid fitting perfectly on the top, plus the very strong steel handle is fantastic. However I guess I didnt season it well enough because after camping for the weekend the bottom, exposed to campfire flame, exhibited lotsa rust. I scrubbed it with brillo and reseasoned it heavily with fresh baconfat after cooking a pound of bacon in it (mmmmm bacon) and am going camping again tomorrow. I anticipate greatness, just like the previous time.
