I am 38 and plus size. My boys and husband all play ice hockey. I was missing out on family time when we are at the rink for open skate because I didn't know how to skate. I decided to learn but the rentals killed my feet so I purchased these. They are very comfortable for a skate. For the reviews who complained about that..it's an ice skate not a slipper and you need support. I have a wide foot and these were wide enough but not to wide that my foot flopped. I am progressing in my skating very well since getting these and I spent alot less $$ on these than what I did for my boys and husband's hockey skates.
