I purchased the Emotion stealth 10 about a month ago, and have limited use... only two times. Once on a small lake and the other on a reservoir. I was drawn to a sit-on-top style Kayak, and was torn between the Perception Tribe 9.5 and Emotion Stealth 10.3. I chose the Emotion Stealth 10 because of some features that were offered on it that that were not offered on the Tribe, such as paddle keepers and rod holders. So far I'm not unhappy with my purchase, but one glaring con for me, is its lack of speed.. it is quite a bit slower than the kayak my lady purchased. She also got a 10 ft. (Old Town Vapor 10) sit in. And maybe sit-ons are just slower, but her Vapor 10 seems almost as wide as the Stealth. I think the Stealth 10 is an OK Kayak for a beginner, or to use if you understand what your getting, and don't have expectations beyond slowly meandering while paddling around, or mixed with light fishing, but I crave a little more speed. I am still looking forward to testing this on a mild river to test its performance in that setting. The Stealth is absent a replacement skid, and I can see the long term importance that one would offer for the protection of not wearing through over time. Because of this purchase I will be better informed on my next kayak purchase what to look for. I don't have a lot to compare, as this is my first Kayak, so take this review for what its worth. But two things i will look for in a future kayak is something a little lighter and whose design offers a little more speed when wanting to just paddle across the lake. I would look for another sit-on-top version, as i like the comfort offered. And speaking of comfort.. although the stealth 10 doesn't have a seat pad.. it doesn't require one, it is an extremely comfortable ride. As far as stability, i haven't dumped it yet, except for an intentional flip to see what it would take to flip it, flip it back over, all while in the water not touching bottom, and climb back on. I was able to perform the task, but it at times while not attempting to dump it, the Stealth doesn't seem as stable as i thought it would be. It is easy to paddle, but as stated, just not speedy. The storage is adequate, and you can fit a small cooler on the back, and a 6ft. fishing pole in front hatch, but the cup holder is too shallow, and too close to your seated crotch to be an adequate cup holder. However the water bottle strap holder further up is good. Additional time and use will tell more for this Stealth and me. If I remember, i'll try to provide an updated review after more use. From a customer service standpoint, Emotion/Lifetime customer service dept. seems top notch, prompt and responsive.. shipping me a replacement for a cracked drain plug immediately. The plug was cracked at the time of purchase, but I didn't realize it until i got home... but Emotion/Stealth made this interaction flawlessly easy. So kudos there.
